NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (Jan. 13, 2025) – New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) will upgrade water line infrastructure along Landa St. and Elm St. as part of the Landa and Elm Street Water Line Improvements Project beginning Monday, Jan. 13, with expected completion early May 2025. To minimize traffic disruption, most work will occur within the Wurstfest property easement, away from regular traffic flow. The roads will remain open, but the right turn lane from Landa St. onto Landa Park Drive will be closed during the project. Right turns are still permitted from the adjacent through lane. Nighttime work on Landa Park Drive will occasionally occur between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., with one-way traffic available to reduce impact.

Approximately 500 feet of an 8-inch water line will be replaced with a 12-inch line along Landa St. from Landa Park Drive to the bridge at Dry Comal Creek. The $565,599 project is important to the continued and improved service reliability and system resiliency, ensuring capacity for future demand.

All work is expected to be completed as scheduled, weather permitting.

For questions, contact the NBU Water Department at 830.608.8833.
