(New Braunfels, TX – April 12, 2022) – Construction on New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) Castell Avenue 24-inch Water Line – West Capital Improvement Project continues. The Project began in April 2021 and was budgeted at $14.7 million. Upon completing both the East and West Water Line Projects, there will be an added 10,000 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch water main, 5,200 LF of 12-inch water main, 6,600 LF of eight-inch, and 16-inch wastewater lines, increasing water capacity.

Hinman Island Drive between Elizabeth Avenue and Liberty Avenue will be closed until Friday, May 27, 2022, to allow for the safe installation of the waterline for this project.

Detours are in place to redirect traffic. Spiess Construction Company, Ltd. is the contractor performing the construction.

All work is expected to be completed as scheduled, weather permitting.
