New Braunfels Utilities Introduces New Board of Trustees Member Stuart Blythin
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (Dec. 18, 2024) – Stuart Blythin has been appointed to the New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) Board of Trustees, filling the seat previously held by John Harrell.
Bythin brings over two decades of dedicated local involvement and professional expertise to the Board. His commitment to the community is evident through his current roles as a board member for Communities in Schools and a trustee for the McKenna Foundation. He also previously served on NBU’s Rate Advisory Committee and Community Advisory Panel, where he contributed valuable insights to ensure customer needs and concerns were at the forefront of NBU’s decision-making processes.
The NBU Board of Trustees members are appointed by the New Braunfels City Council to serve five-year terms and together, they work to approve all bond issuances and rate changes for electric, water, and wastewater in the NBU service territory. The NBU Board of Trustees exercises complete control and authority for electric, water, and wastewater services and determines the NBU policy and direction. Additionally, the Board maintains a complete system of accounts, budgetary controls, and financial policy.
