The NBU Solar Rebate
With the NBU Residential Solar Rebate program you can:
- Reduce your energy bill
Earn an NBU rebate of up to $3,000
How to Qualify
- Meet eligibility requirements.
- Complete the NBU Going Solar Course and Customer Education Acknowledgement form.
- Select a contractor from NBU’s Participating Contractor list – customers are only eligible for the rebate if they use a listed Participating Solar Contractor.
- Submit the rebate application, signed solar contract, and Customer Education Acknowledgement Form
to DER@nbutexas.com.
Rebate Guidelines
- You must have an NBU residential electric utility account
- The solar PV system must be connected to an NBU residential electric account where the PV system will be installed
- NBU Solar Rebate Program funding is on a first come, first served basis. Rebate funds are not reserved for systems during the NBU interconnection process
- You must complete the NBU Going Solar Course prior to applying for a rebate
- You must use an NBU Participating Contractor to install your solar PV system – see the List of Participating Contractors
- The solar PV system must be 3kW (DC) or larger, and mostly free of shading
- Rebate application must be submitted within 12-months of receiving permission to operate (PTO)
- Third-party solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are not allowed in the NBU service territory
- Homes with existing solar PV systems or system expansions are not eligible to participate in this program
- Leased solar PV systems are not eligible to participate in this program
- Customers who received a solar rebate within the last 12-months are not eligible to apply for a rebate at the same address
