The Control Center Operator I must learn to monitor and operate SCADA Systems, GIS, outage management systems, and control and maintain the integrity of electric, water distribution systems, and wastewater treatment systems.

New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) is seeking an individual for the temporary position of Water Systems SCADA Integrator Intern. This position will be responsible for assisting the Water & Wastewater SCADA Administrator in developing and maintaining New Braunfels Utilities’ Water and Wastewater SCADA infrastructure. Work is performed in accordance with well-prescribed procedures and defined objectives under close technical and methodological supervision.

The Right of Way Specialist is responsible for assisting the department with real estate research, negotiations, and acquisition of land rights needed for the installation, use, and maintenance of the public utilities’ infrastructure and other real estate interests and assets. This position includes obtaining and analyzing property ownership information, land title documents, appraisal data, and preparing easement documentation to support utility capital improvement projects.

The Right of Way Specialist will assist in the acquisition activities through a defined process, including assisting with securing NBU easements, accomplishing easement encroachment and abandonment requests, answering easement questions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned tasks.

The Plant Operator I is an entry-level position that focuses on achieving competency through learning and understanding a variety of technical work utilized for the operation of New Braunfels Utilities’ wastewater treatment systems, including the North and South Kuehler, Gruene Road, and Sam C. McKenzie treatment facilities.

The Plant Operator I is an entry-level position that focuses on achieving competency through learning and understanding a variety of technical work utilized for the operation of New Braunfels Utilities’ water production and treatment systems, including the Surface Water Treatment Plant, Trinity Membrane Treatment Plant, and groundwater production facilities.

The Project Manager for Business Planning is responsible for working closely with the Program Portfolio Manager to deliver projects on time and within budget and scope across the enterprise.

The Water Protection Specialist works under general supervision and is responsible for protecting NBU’s Public Water System from contamination by reviewing plans, inspecting residential and commercial development, interpreting complex water protection regulations, and maintaining a program to enforce applicable federal, state, and local regulations that govern backflow prevention devices, cross connections, auxiliary and reclaimed water systems, and private fire hydrant and protection systems.
