Advanced Metering Infrastructure, or AMI, is a system that allows NBU to collect utility usage information electronically through upgraded metering equipment and a secure communications network. AMI collects information related to utility consumption and meter operations. 

NBU is implementing AMI as part of a long-term effort to modernize our water and electric systems. The project will be completed gradually throughout NBU’s final service territory and will provide NBU and our customers with more timely information about utility use.
