In consultation with New Braunfels Utilities (NBU), Mayor French has declared Conservation Stage 2 in accordance with the City of New Braunfels Code of Ordinances. Under the ordinance, Stage 2 may be implemented when the 10-day rolling average of the Edwards Aquifer at the J-17 monitoring well reaches 650 feet above mean sea level or lower, or when Comal Springs flow reaches 200 cubic feet per second (cfs) or lower, whichever occurs first. These objective measurements help ensure a reliable water supply while protecting our community’s water resources during drought conditions.
